What's up!

Welcome to my first ever blog! Please take your time to enjoy reading it.
This blog entry is my first one, and it’s kind of a special one indeed since I'm going to share my insights, reviews and comment about the recent event that I was engaged in, it was special since it is something that you don’t get to see ever day inside the campus. It was kind of sad since I didn’t get myself to enjoy the three day bazaar since I was busy and I only went there one time, It was a different experience for me to see something like that inside our school, and what amazes me the most is that those bazaar had their purpose why the were selling native products inside the vicinity of University of Santo Tomas.
Last, last week, there was a special bazaar inside the University of Santo Tomas, there was a cultural festival-like that occurred at the Quadricentennial Park and there were many outsiders from different places selling different kinds of products. I knew that it was not just those typical stuff that one can easily find within the outskirts of Manila, it was something different something that you would likely stop and notice for a while.
Those products are not just a products indeed, I can tell that ever product has its own uniqueness into it and it made me became interested to see it for myself. My friends dragged me around Quadricentennial Park during our lunch break and decided to check out those products, at first I was like, “What am I even going to do here? Buy myself a coconut water or a ginger, turmeric powder?” since I saw countless of bags with coconut fruits, ginger roots and other organic stuff in that stall, at first, I did really get to me that I was walking around in these organic fruits and herbal stuff, what made me stay was the last stalls. The last stalls made me bring out my wallet and buy their stuff. I saw a stall which sells keychain, pouch and bags that are only made with beads, it’s kind of fascinating to see things like these since the vendor told me that it was handmade and it was made from Parañaque City Jail, those woman detainees and prisoners spend most of their time in making those fashionable beads into key chains, pouch, cell phone holders and wallet and also a bag! It was really awesome to see beads that are shaped like animals, words that say “ILOVEUST”, tiger, bear holding a word letter, most of the girls actually went out to buy one for themselves, and some for their friends so that they would be matchy-matchy, girls love those kind of stuff indeed. The way the beads were moulded and created to form a shape is indeed worth buying for, I think that it can be a trend for some girls since they are more attracted to these kind of things.
I’m a bit fascinated by the details that I heard from the salesperson, she told me that the money will go to the fund of those prisoners and give it to their family for support. It was kind of heart-warming to know that was buying something that was made by hands and buying a product with a great cause. I also went to another stall, this one is kind of unusual since it is not for fashion or health use, I saw a bunch of stacked pillows in this one stall and I decided to asked if they were selling it, turns out, those pillows are also handmade by the volunteers in that stall, the pillows were soft and warm, I really did not know why I went to that stall, all I know is I already bought one small pillow, perfect when you want to take a short nap inside the classroom. The pillow case where sewn by one of the members of that stall and the designs are really eye-catching, and it was actually unusual for me to see something that you don’t get to see every day inside the school that you can practically buy. The pillows were cute and they have different designs, I bought one and used it during our break time, and I must say, it is really efficient for me to have pillows since you can nap anywhere with it and its actually small enough to fit inside our bag. I saw man senior high and college students also purchasing those handmade pillows in that local stall. For once a while, a good nap is actually good and refreshing, that is why they bought pillows from that stall since it suites better for napping indeed.

I also bought this cute box which the vendor told me was a box bank, it is actually a money saving box where you can save our money by putting it inside the box. It was actually very cheap for a medium sized piggy bank, she told us that it was also made from Parañaque City Jail and the detainees and prisoners were also the ones who made it, what fascinates me is that the  materials the used for making such a beautiful product was from recycled materials, It is indeed worth buying for! I mean, for a forty pesos? I would totally buy that box of course. I purchased one and made sure to fill it up with money. This one is good for those people who wants to start saving up money and wants a practical piggy bank, I’m pretty sure that this item will be a hit.

There were still a lot of things left for me to unravel during my rounds in the Quadricentennial Park that day, but it seems like one day of checking out stall by stall during our break time was not enough. I was disappointed since I felt like I want to check out more things from that event and the ambiance seems to soothe out my stress form academics since there were activities during the event and some are enjoin the cultural vibe of the event. It was indeed worth my time to go there and enjoy myself into something valuable and significant.
